Question Since Flomax enters the bloodstream and is therefore carried throughout the body, exactly how does Floxmax CR target only the prostate and bladder sphincters and why does it not affect other muscles or sphincters?
Answer Flomax is a more selective agent in that it targets only the type 1A receptors which are predominantly in the lower ureters and prostate. The effect on other muscles and sphincters is drastically diminished to the point that there is usually so noticeable effect elsewhere.
