Answer There is no evidence to support Viagra causing an increase in heart rate. However, sexual activity alone can and does often create such an increase. This is normally not a problem, but if a patient is not physically able to tolerate sexual activity due to severe heart disease, then he probably should not have sexual intercourse whether or not that patient needs Viagra.
