Urology - testicular pain

Expert: Stephen W. Leslie, MD - 1/2/2007

Question
since about 13 years old i have had pain in my right testicle. i have been to 3 urologist over the years and him now 32 and it hurts like hell. the scrotum is usually tight no matter what the ambient temp. and even if him sweating. it can be 100 degrees and him about to have a heat stoke, but my scrotum is much cooler than the rest of my body and tight. during intercourse the right on is usually inside my abdomen and no matter how many time i push it out it goes back. i went to the doctor and he did not seam concerned at all and said there was nothing he could do about the tightness. and just disregarded the pain issue completely. the right on even fills different than the left and does not lay correctly the cords seam to be wadded up. it is usually sore and gets so sever that the entire right side of my pelvis and upper right leg Hurst so bad i could cry. is there anything i can do or should i just get use to it

Answer
If you've seen and been examined by three different urologists who were unable to help you, then it's highly unlikely that I can from just your description.  It may be possible that a surgical exploration can free up the testicle and provide more space, but it may also cause problems like scarring and won't change the temperature issue.

I will assume you've had testicular ultrasounds that were negative but if not that would be a place to start.

Finally, seek out a urologist at a major university tertiary care center.  They often see more difficult or unusual cases like this and may be able to offer more help.
