Question QUESTION: Hi. I am from the United Kingdom and would like to know why you can no longer use a Maestro debit card for recurring transactions on the internet and how can you still use a Mastercard for recurring transaction as Maestro is part of Mastercard ? I would also like to know why we cannot get Mastercard Debit cards in the United Kingdom. We have Visa Debit and Visa Electron from the Visa side but only Maestro from the Mastercard side.
ANSWER: I am afraid I cannot help you very much about why and why not of Maestro. I think they are starting to phase them out.
However, another possible solution might be to get a US Mastercard linked to a US bank account or a US Paypal account.

QUESTION: How am I supposed to get a US Mastercard linked to a US bank account if I am from the United Kingdom ? I have a UK paypal account
Answer Did you follow the links I provided? There is a lot of information on both. You are going to need to establish an entity of some sort. For more business oriented efforts, you are going to need or want to establish a US LLC. If you really just want a US bank account and PayPal Account (linked to the US Bank account), then the Bahamas Paypal Trust account should do fine. That is the one at www.urbankacct.com.
