Question I bank with Wachovia and set up with online Bill pay to pay a bill on a particular day. Wachovia sent out a paper check with the date requested for payment. It got to the payee a day earlier and was deposited which caused other items to bounce. Called the payee and they claim that it is illegal to write a post dated check. What can I do...
Answer unfortunately there is nothing you can do, post dated checks are not honored, the bank had every right to cash the check the day they received it. You may be able to call Wachovia and ask if they would be willing to waive any of the fees, but note this would be a courtesy on their end, not an obligation
