Using Banks and Bank Accounts - check deposit

Question
I have two daughters at college and often write checks to deposit in their accounts. Of course, they are not available to endorse the checks. What is the best way to handle this? Can I signed their name and then my own?

Answer
you could but its risky, because some banks require both payees  (since this would now be a 3rd party check) to be present.  I would suggest seeing if your bank allows online transfers into the accts (several of them do) Bank of America has a great service like that if you both have Bank of America Accounts, you can transfer funds into their accts immediately with no fee.  If you, yourself got a bank of america account, and they didnt want to/cant switch  you can still do this, but it costs like $10 I think.  and it can take a day or two.  I personally have a small account with bank of america for this exact purpose and its awesome, no complaints.  If you open the accounts online, theres no direct deposit requirement which makes it even better, i think its called my access checking, but again you have to open it online to get that fee waived.  and in the promo code box if you put "KTCFREE" you can open a personal savings account on line no balance requirement or service fee and enroll in keep the change.  so like you you do a purchase for $2.50 on your check card, they round it up to $3.00, that 0.50 would be transferred into your savings acct and they match it 100% for the first three months and then 5% thereafter.  that would be the best solution i could think of.   Also again, just please remember, if you choose to go with them, to do it like I listed here, its the only way to get those freebies.

One more thing, it doesnt matter if you are in different states, as long as you and your daugthers follow those instructions above, it will work, the key is to opening it online.
