Using Banks and Bank Accounts/Uncashed Personal Check

Question
Hello,
My credit card company has posted my payment two months ago but has not
cashed the check. How long do I wait to make sure the money is in my
account for the uncashed check?

Thanks for your help.

Answer
Technically, you need to wait until the check is no longer valid, which is normally 6 months. This is up to your bank to decide, so I would ask them exactly what their policy is. However, I would call your credit card company and try to determine why it has not been cashed. Things like this have a paper trail and you do not want to be on the end of having lied or hidden information for personal gain. Good luck!
