Subject: Basic Question about Notes E-mail Capabilities

Question
I developed a simple database application to keep track of donations to a charity. Now I want to automate the sending of canned e-mail messages to potential donors in the database. I used to do this sort of thing easily when I worked in a large corporate Notes environment. But now my database runs standalone on my local server. I am not connected to a Domino Server and do not use Lotus notes for email. My PC does have internet connectivity of course, and I do have a non-Lotus notes email account.

Can I still write agents that will send emails to potential donors? I am more familiar with formula language and functions like @Mailsend than I am with Lotus Script.

Answer
Hi,

If you are not connected to a Domino Server and do not have a mail box on the server, you cannot send mail from your mail box on your PC.

Beyond that I do not know how you configure a Domino Server on your local PC. I am not a Notes Admin.

Sorry.

Paski
