Using MS Access - Drop Down List/Look Up Table Question
Expert: Richard Rost - 10/30/2009
Question Hi Richard
I was wondering of you could help me.I have had some experience with access and would say that I am at intermediate, but have not used access for a while. I am working with Access 2007.
I am creating a time management database. I have a Look up table called Activity and would like another called Activity Detail. I would like the Activity Detail table to display certain criteria dependant on what is selected in the Activity table for example selecting 'Typing' from the Activity Table would then display 'Letter', 'Report', etc in the Activity Detail table. Is this possible and can you advise on how to do this?
Thanks in advance
Amy Smith
Answer If I understand you correctly, you want to select a value in one combo box and have the values in the second combo box change based on the first value selected. If so, this tutorial should answer your question:
I get asked this question all the time. You've got two or more combo boxes and you want the first one to filter the second one. I get asked this so much that I recorded a video tutorial explaining how to do it:
