Using MS Access/MS Access Text File Import

Question
Hi Scott,

I'm having trouble importing a file.  It's a text file.  The file has one long field - 671 characters.  I created a table to import into with Memo field.

I am import the table with an import spec I created (with one field 671 char length).  The data has a bunch of empty spaces at the end of the line that I need to keep.  Access is truncating these.
The end of the record looks like this: 'ENG          '

How can I import without losing the spaces after ENG?  When I copy the text file and paste it into the table, I don't lose them.  Any ideas?

Thanks a lot!
Scott

Answer
I would try linking to the file and then running an Append query to add them to the table.

Hope this helps,
Scott<>
