Question
Hi Scottgem,

I read your 'Sequential Numbering' post made in November 25, 2009. I would really appreciate a simplification if you can:
I have a new database with only one table so far called 'Maintenance'. with one field labelled 'RefNo'. I would like to create an sequential numbering system with the following format: MAINT(current month)(000).
Any assistance you can provide would be invaluable.

Answer
I've since written a blog that details the process. Please review the blog (see address below). If you still have specific questions please feel free to ask.

Is there a reason you need sequential numbering for this?

Hope this helps,
Scott<>
