Using MS Access/Error message

Question
QUESTION: Hi Scott,
I have a database that is a split database.  The front end is located on user's computers while the backend is located on a server.  Something happened yesterday, I have no idea what, but I received the following error.  The error appears on the front and the back end.  Just wondering if you have any idea of what may have occurred to cause this error.

Microsoft Access has detected that this database is in an inconsistent state, and will attempt to recover the database.  During this process, a backup copy of the database will be made and all recovered objects will be placed in a new database.  Access will then open the new database.  The names of objects that were not successfully recovered will be logged in the “Recovery Errors” table.

Thanks so much for your help.  It is greatly appreciated as always.   Carla  :)

ANSWER: Restore the back end from your most recent backup. That should fix it. I suspect the FEs are OK, especially if this is happening at multiple PCs. But the BE apparently got corrupted.

Or you could let it create the copy and try to repait itself and see if that works.

Hope this helps,

QUESTION: Thanks so much Scott.  I will follow your advice.  Also, is there a way in Access to automatically back up the BE of this database at the end of everyday?

Thanks,
Carla  :)

Answer
I would not do this within Access. You should have a backup policy on the server that backs up data files overnight.

Hope this helps,
