Using MS Access - Queries in a video rental database

Expert: Geoff - 2/18/2005

Question
Hey Geoff,
I'm creating a database system for a fictional video rental company. I've got tables, forms and a switchboard ste up. I'm now starting to work on creating queries. This is really a two-pronged question, any suggestions as to what kind of queries i should set up to run and how do you work out totals using figures from two seperate tables using a query.

This is my first time using access, so apologies about the lack of technical jargon, ICT ain't my strong point and I've done so nuch with this piece in a matter of weeks I think I've just hit a brick wall!

Thanks for your time, if you can't think or dont know, it's no problem!

Ian

Answer
Ian Hi

Could I suggest that you take some time to peruse and absorb some excellently prepared material in on-board help:
open Access Help, select Contents, then a section 'Working with Queries'. This section is very extensive and will definitely help you through your 'brick wall'.

Later on when you have a specific query to solve, I would be delighted to help. BTW working via this medium, it is helpful to be 'au fait' with converting QBE queries (Graphical) to SQL queries (Text) and vica versa - this is also explained in the section above.

Kind regards
Geoff
