Subject: Move asp website to another host server

Question
Hi,
There is a asp website which they want me to move to another host server, it's website with an application where client login and they can check their account and so forth, my question is, before i move it, which information do i need, do i need to know the exact language, can i ask them for a backup of the codes or the website ? and what's the best way to move it and for everything to work without any problem. They also have a lot of emails accounts, how can i monitor the emails for them?
Thank you in advance

Answer
Hello Sir,

hmm do the following :

1. Check The Hosting Performance - If Its Windows Based Or Liunx Based.
2. Web Hosting Space same as old one have .. IIS6 , asp supported.
3. before moving the site - take a backup and zip it.
4. Use filezila FTP Client Its Good and Fast.
5. Select the folder where site located on your hard disk from filezila
6. on new hosting ftp see the directory if its have www folder then put all the files in that folder and if u have html_public folder and put it  in that folder and if you dont have any of these folder then put all the files on root ...
