Question
I like to see a progress bar updating while gridview is geting data from the database. I have tried it but the screen freezes while recieving data.Any advice is wellcome.

Answer
When you bind data to GridView it executes a blocking call and doesnt not return any progress information.

You can although implement a pseduo progress bar which does the UI animation to keep the user entertained.

You can do that through BackGroundWorkerProcess: http://www.google.com/search?q=BackGroundWorkerProcess&rls=com.microsoft:en-au:I...

Or use threading to update the progress bar.
