Question
Hello
Is it possible to write data on disk sector out of the file system
to avoid deletion.

Thanks in advance

Answer
Hi Shay,

I don't think in VB.NET managed API. You will have to look for unmanaged API (like C++ or similar and check the Win32 API library).

On the flip side you can maybe do it some other way what you are trying to achieve. Example: Get the unique motherboard Id then store it via a webservice(activation) of sorts in the Cloud or similar (See Windows Azure Storage >> http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/)

Another trick is store your information in multiple places (like disk, then registry hive user key). Use a tool like www.advancedinstaller to create your own installer (create your own windows user account). Then change the permissions on the folder containing the data only to your windows user account. None of the other users would have access to that folder (other than administrators)

Hope this helps! If you explain what type of data you are trying to have user restrict to then I can even suggest more options.
