Subject: How to calculate transfer/download/upload rate?

Question
Hello,

I have a question, how do i measure the bandwidth (i`m not sure if this is the right term) as if download rate, upload rate or kbps transfer rate.

Can i do my windows application of my own to calculate this? transfer rate..?

e.g.: i want to measure whats the kbps transfer rate if i download or upload file form a server. How do I program this?

Answer
If you are using a way which returns to you the bytes received then you can ofcourse time using either a timer control or a control's own data received event and then calculate the time, then simply divide the data you have received divied by time it took to get the transfer rate.

If you need further explanation let me know.

Regards,
Rizwan
