Expert: Andrea Murphy Date: 6/23/2007 Subject: Will Eddie Stay Sober
Question Recently Eddie has just gotten out of rehab and made a public appearance at a Nascar promotion event and he was looking AWESOME! He's got this new haircut and he's tan and buff and he really looks like a million bucks. I have high hopes because I love Van Halen and would love to see them go on tour again and maybe a new album with his son Wolfgang? Sammy and David are both excited for his return and I'm wondering if both of them wouldn't be interested in going back on the roads again, even though Hagar might not be as interested unless Anthony was with them and who knows what Anthony thinks of the whole thing. My question is, will Eddie stay sober? Like I said, I have high hopes. Let's face it though, he's a rock icon, he parties (even at age 52). Will he be able to make a comeback and get us all rocking out to Eruption again? Or will he fall back into the darkness and leave us all praying.

I wish I had a clear answer for this one, only time will tell. Eddie has made it clear that Mike won't be joining VH on any tour. Sammy has made it clear that he thinks it is Dave's turn, so Sammy isn't interested.
I hope that if Wolfgang goes on tour with VH, that might be enough motivation to stay sober. I really want to see a reunion tour with Mike and Dave, but sometimes I wonder if the road is a good place for Eddie. Too much temptation. I think he could have us all rocking again, I just don't know if he can keep it together. Time will tell.
