Question Any signs of the band re-forming? What is DLR up to? I caught him in concert about 3 summers ago - great show! Thanks in advance for any info. BTW, where can I get some high-quality bootlegs?

Not the best news. I am stunned that you haven't heard that DLR and Sammy Hagar toured together in June and are continuing this tour at the end of July. After and during that Dave is in the studio with his band.
Van Halen has no contract, no manager, no lead singer. Eddie and his wife split up in October. My site has a decent wrap up www.vanhalensite.com . My advice is to catch the Sam and Dave show...the dates are on my site too.
