Expert: Andrea Murphy Date: 1/6/2005 Subject: Van Halen, Oakland 1981
Question hey Andrea--
I stumbled onto your expert page while doing a Google search
for leads on rare Van Halen videos, specifically the famous and
elusive 1981 Oakland show. I once had my own treasured copy
of several songs from that gig, but I lost it years ago and like
most everyone else have not been able to find another since.
Who knew I was sitting on such a gold mine.
Anyway....your note to another fan on About.com--dated a few
years ago--suggested that you have a copy of this show, or
parts of it. If you're still in the VH collectibles game, do you
know where I can go to find a copy? Or can I buy one from you?
I have nothing to trade....I'd just like to get my hands on this
show if I can. (And it would be fun to make my brother's day by
showing him that I could find a copy after all this time.)

All I have is the commercially released stuff, probably exactly what you had before. Dance the Night Away, Jamie's Crying, and a few others. If you could, send me an e-mail (creed5150@comcast.net). I am on a bit of a break from trading these days, but that may be a tape I can locate easily. To make a long story short, I haven't traded since a drunk driver drove into my house and destroyed it...I am all rebuilt now, but with the quick and unplanned move out of the house I still have trouble finding stuff.
Send me the e-mail and in the meantime I will look for the tape, I think I remember seeing it last week, if so we can work a trade for a blank tape and postage.
