Answer Do you mean in 1985, when he briefly rejoined for BOV1 or when he was in the studio with them a little over two years ago?
If it's 1985, it depends who you ask. DLR says he quit, becuase Ed and comp were "fat and lazy." EVH says DLR was fired for suffering from LSD (lead singers diasease) funny thing is that Ed said the same thing about Sammy when he was fired.
Who knows?
For BOV1 it was a publicity stunt in which they used DLR. I am convinced of that. Since then Ed and Co haven't been able to fully recover from that fiasco. (In my honest opinion)
In 2002, DLR was in the studio with Ed and wanted to be the lead singer fo VH (Which I do not blame him.) Ed wanted control DLR was out.
