I was born in Vancouver and lived there for 10 years in my 20's. There is an area called "Marpole" It is closer to Richmond but also close to Cambie, Granville and other major streets that run downtown. Busses every few min. Stay away from the lower East side. Buildings around there tend to have cockroaches.
