Question Can you tell me if the CT Angiography is ever wrong when detecting 100% blocked internal carotids on both sides? We had heard the only way to be positive there was no flow was by going in with a camera. After a small stroke last month, my husband was diagnosed with 100% blockages on both sides with the test where they injected dye and did a CT scan. We just want to know whether he should have more tests or if that one is always accurate.

Answer that is pretty much the gold standard as far as I know, but the type of doc you might want to ask is an interventional radiologist, thats the kind of thing they really keep up on. sorry. lauri
