Question My son's grandmother has a 100% blocked carotid artery. Is there anything that can be done? She has been having stroke symptons and we think is having TIAs. I am very concerned about her.
Answer I am so sory but if it is really 100% blocked, there is nothing to be done. Has she had an angiogram to prove it is 100%? There is a thing called a string sign, where there is a tiny "string" sized opening, that can be fixed. The big thing tho, if it is totally blocked, have regular ultrasounds on the other side to make sure that it stays open. lauri
