lauri,
hi. i have an issue with my right leg that i believe is vericose veins. directly along the front of my shin is a vein that is sticking out and is dark in color. it is painful sometimes to the point of not wanting to put pressure on it. i have been working out since january and putting much more stress on my legs since then AND i stand on my feet for 8 hours a day for work. i have noticed that i see the same pattern beginning in various other locations on the same leg and am worried of the outcome. i have NOT seen a doctor for this condition ( i currently do NOT have health insurance and am worried about the costs as well as it becoming a "pre existing" condition if i do become eligible for health insurance at some point) my family is worried for me and i am too. any help you can provide would be much appreciated. thanks so much.
Answer not sur what you are wanting to know, but you need an ultrasound (about 300.00 ) and then whatever treatment the US reveals you need (usually froma few hundred to a few thousand depending)
but there are conversative measure, best youcan do is wear 20-30 mm pressure unless contraindicated by concurrent arterial problems)
problem will not go away on it's own, best treat with compression (you can get goos sox from Ebay or www.ameswalker.com Bfxh
