Question
Hello...
The booklet in SRV's Greatest Hits, Lou Ann Barton is quoted as saying, "I called him Brady & that became his name."
Any idea what Brady she is referencing?
Thanks,
Brady

Answer
Brady was the name of the hillbilly character that Stevie created for himself during the early days of Double Trouble, when Lou Ann Barton and Jackie Newhouse were still part of the lineup.  The whole band created characters for themselves; for instance, Chris Layton was "Harold" and Lou Ann was "Momma."  Stevie's biography says that he fell into the Brady character whenever he wanted to poke fun at himself.
