Question
Is being a vegetarian more or less healthy than having a diet including
meat?  What are the advantages to being a vegetarian or an omnivore?

Answer
Becky this has been argued for centuries.  Being a vegetarian is a way of life.  I look at mine as a respect for the living things on the earth and don't wear or use leather or anything else that comes from an animal.  I can't say what is healthy for you is healthy for me or someone else.  This is an individual life choice.  There are health reasons for all diets and this may be the most interesting for there are far more varieties are food combinations in being a vegetarian.  There are however, illnesses that we pass down from generation to generation that your diet may or may not help.  So, it is best that you check out why you might become a vegetarian and make certain it is for the right reason.  Remember there are arguments that support both side of the scale.
I rather get excited to see all the colors of vegetables in the market and tofu and beans and lentils and how many countries I can cook all of these from and find that meat can be boring.  My favorite book is Veganomigon!  by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero.  They really have it in a nutshell about how to include all the right stuff to be healthy and never get bored eating your vegetables, nuts, fruit, protein etc.

Is there anything else that you need to know.  I did basics rather than opinion.  It is a sore subject to everyone who eats meat.

Chef Paulette
