Question
Hello if you could answer this question and settle an argument between me and my friend it would be great. we are both vegetarians and i have been told that you cant eat fish so i follow that as people say its meat, although my friend disagrees and says it isnt meat. am i right or is she right. please email me A.S.A.P.

Answer
Katherine,

I consider fish, chicken, beef, and pork to all be in the meat category. However, many people separate fish and meat into two different categories. Whether they are two different categories or just one, if you eat fish, you are not a vegetarian. (The same thing goes for people that claim to be vegetarians and eat chicken.) By definition, vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, or poultry.
