Question In the past I had unprotected sex. Although there is no pain, recently I have noticed while urinating a small red rash or red dots appear on the end of my penis. Any suggestion to what this may be will be gratefully received.
GRAHAM 29 DURHAM UK
Answer Hello Graham,
You need to provide me with more details about your symptoms:
Provoke-- occurred only after urinating? etc.
Quality-- itchy? numb? you already said it wasn't "painful". swelling? how big are the red dots-- 1-2mm? elevated or totally flat? waxy? etc.
Region-- under foreskin (do you have a foreskin?), on underside? on head or shaft? spreading at all? etc.
Severity-- symptoms mildly annoying, or just cosmetic? etc.
Temporal qualities-- Duration of "rash"; how soon did they appear after having sex or urinating? etc.
Associated factors-- been camping in the woods? recent oral, anal, or vaginal sex? inadequate lubrication during sex? new cosmetics or soaps? etc.
The information you provided isn't enough to figure out much of anything. It could be a normal variation, it could be a mild irritation. It could be the sign of a skin condition. It doesn't sound like the usual presentation of an STD, though.
