Question
Hello. Because of the heat I sleep in the nude and the other day my sister left the dog door open and the dog wandered in and i awoke to her licking my vagina. Are there any types of STD's that can be transmitted though dog's saliva?

Answer
Susan,

I don't believe so. First of all, dogs don't have sexually transmitted infections. Also, I'm not positive, but I've heard many times that dogs' mouths are actually cleaner than humans' mouths due to some kind of special "cleaning" chemical thats present in dogs' saliva. I'm not entirely sure about that one though.

I have also heard however, that dogs' mouths can contain E.Coli, among other harmful bacteria (from licking their own behinds), but then again, I've heard that their saliva also kills the E.Coli.

I'm guessing that since this was a one-time thing, and probably only lasted a few seconds, I'd say you most likely have nothing to worry about.

Hope I could help, and remember to keep you door closed!

Lyndsay
