Question
sir how sexual trasmitted diseases occur.if we touch anyones body who have hiv. in such cases they effect us ????std's causes hiv ??

Answer
Joe,

Touch alone cannot transmit much of anything, let alone HIV. Bacterial infections? Yeast infections? Surely. But it depends on what you're dealing with. Nearly all STI's, with the notable exception of Herpes or HSV 1 and 2 can be transmitted via non-sexual activity like kissing and even sharing the same drinking glass or eating utensil as someone else. The STI's are transmitted primarily through vaginal secretions, seminal fluid, blood, and breast milk. Most of the time the primary cause of transmission is via a mucosal surface, so the vaginal and anal routes. As for your HIV question, HIV is a sexually transmitted infection and leads to AIDS, which is the collection of symptoms that can eventually lead to death for a great deal of patients because of a near catastrophic loss of the immune system. HIV alone is not the red alert that it was in the 80's and 90's. In fact, we have come a long long way since then. Thank you for your question.

Best wishes,

John
