Question QUESTION: Hey Francisco,
I'm a 22 year old guy with way more bills than income... I recently spoke with a guy who was visiting family, he lives in Venezuela... Now I know that people will always "uptalk" where they are from, but my girlfriend and I are very curious. Neither of us want to remain in the US, and are looking for a place of beauty and very low living costs.
I understand the gas is hella cheap, ontop of food and such... But what would you say a regular month in $$$ would be for 2 people who do not need a whole lot of extras, but who party hard?? Also, jobs... I've done a lot of research, but I have no degree... I bartend. Would it basically equal out to me still basically working just to pay bills there as well?
I appreciate any advice or answer. Thanks a lot.
ANSWER: Hello Shawn:
You need at least USD 1500 for two to live in Venezuela, recommend to locate in Merida
For action, danger and lots of good and bad bars: Caracas.
Maybe you can teach English in Merida ?
Good luck always,
Francisco

QUESTION: Thanks Francisco...
Also, a buddy of mine from Venezuela says it's hard to find milk, bread and regular products like these... He says that the country is headed for communism as well... And that me being a big, white guy i'd stand out like crazy, and he mentioned something about kidnappings. Now i'm a big guy, a Marine, and the guy in the place that most people usually wouldn't mess with... What can you tell me about it?
Answer Hi Shawn:
You buddy is right, very hard to find milk and other regular products. Chavez is pushing his communist programme against a referendum that on December 2, 2007, rejected it....
Kidnappings is real, there is the express version (less than a day) and the years of seclusion as well....
As a big guy, you have less chance and few contenders....just do it ! come and see...
