Question QUESTION: Hi Francisco,
Hope that you can give us advice. We have to spend some time in Aruba , but
we do not want to stay on the island all the time.
I know that there are several flights from Reina Beatrix to the mainland. So we
were thinking of 'hopping over' to Venezuela for a few days, hire a car ,head
for a quiet, rural and romantic place (on the sea?) and find a small local hotel
or basic apartment. Do you have any ideas where to go? It will be our first
visit to Venezuela and -if all goes well- not our last..:-)
kind regards,
Evelien
ANSWER: Hello Evelien
How many days are you staying in Aruba and how many days are you planning to spend in Venezuela ?
When are you going to Aruba (date) ?
Best regards

QUESTION: Hi Francisco,
We will arrive in Aruba at the end of September and depart from there about
14 days later. Between those dates we want to 'escape' 6 or 7 days to another
destination . ( We are not very fond of Aruba...).
Last year we when we were also on this island, we 'escaped' to Tobago, which
was a great success... We hired a -basic- beach house in a quiet village and
enjoyed the beautiful nature over there... Maybe something like this would
bee possible in Venezuela too...
I must say that I am a little bit worried about safety issues. I heard bad stories
about Venezuelan city life... I want to relax among friendly people. I dont
want to be on the lookout all the time for thieves ..:-))
Thank you for answering my previous mail so quickly!
kind regards

Answer Hello E
September / October is a much better date than July / August to travel to Venezuela.
I suggest to go to Los Andes, Merida and specially "Escaguey" there is a nice posada, from where you can make day trips to beautiful places.
It is a nice contrast with the desertic and sunny beaches of Aruba.
