Question I plan to sell some stocks that I bought around 10 years ago. I have changed brokers at least 3 times since I bought it.
I have no idea how much I initially paid for these stocks and don't know how much I gained or lost. Will my current broker provide a statement to show this information so I can claim a capital gain/loss(mostly loss) on my taxes for 2006?
Thank you in advance.
Answer if u can pinpoint when you bought the stock, a good
broker can tell u what you paid.
however.......him telling you and him providing a statement
of legal data are 2 different things.
