Question
I had an ENG done was diagonised with BPPV. I have had 2 epley manuvers done and I still have the feeling of rocking back and forth or side to side and the room spins when I lay down or turn in bed. I was doing the brant-Doroff exercises and after 25 days on it, I got worse. Now I have started on physical therapy and am doing cawthorn-cooksey. My vision is blurred and my eyes bloodshot. Is there anything else that would help. This has been going on for 5 months now. Also, if the hall-pike shows negative and the epley is done, can it give you BPPV? I think my right side is to blame but they did the epley on the left.HELP. I am a prisoner of my own home.

Answer
Dear Belle:

It is rare that either the Epley or Brandt-Daroff do not cure bppv.  Perhaps you should have the Epley performed by another therapist using the rihgt side.

I have had some patient who took 3 months of B-D exercises before a cure was reached.

Best regards,
