Question I am a 33 year old female, happily married with a 15-month old daughter. For the past 3 weeks, I have had "spurts" of dizziness. I don't really know if dizziness is the right word. Here's what happens: About every 45min-1hour, all of a sudden, it looks like the room just "jumps". That sensation lasts only for about 2 seconds, literally. The only other symptom that I've had for the past 2 years or so that could be related to this is pressure in the back of my head. That comes and goes, I'd say about once a week. It's not painful, but it just feels like someone's pressing on the back of my head. The only medication I take is Trivora 28, a birth control pill, which I've taken for the past 6 years. I'm 5'6", 145lbs, and I'm otherwise healthy. Please help. Thanks in advance. Jana
Answer Dear Jana:
I cannot give you a diagnosis over the internet. It is possible you have BPPV ( benign positional paroxysmal vertigo ) that can be cure by exercises. See my vertigo website at: http://ivertigo.net/bppv.html for a quick review of bppv and click where it says exercise therapy also.
I think you should see a neurologist for a complete history and physical also.
