Question
When I get up in the mornng, for about 45 minues, I feel normal.
After about 45 minutes, I get this feeling of a "headcold", and sort of a "dizzy feeling", as well as drowsiness.
This lasts almost all day long, but sometimes I get some relief very late in the evening - a "clearing up" as it were.
I am almost 83, and take many medications any of which could be a contributing factor:
I have had a brain scan, and I have suffered some TIA's which my Internal Medicine Guy thinks is normal for a guy my age.

TIAZAC     - most likely (but I really need it!!)
Zantac
Dyazide
Vasotek
Synthroid
Vioxx

Also, a goodly array of vitamins and minerals.

I thought I might have some sort of allergy, but I was put on Flonase, and it did not help - just made me more drowsy than ever.

My mental faculties are quite good (getting pretty
damn good at "crosswords"), but I am quite clumsy physically.
I still drive, but try to hold it to a minimum.

This may not be your "cup of tea", but perhaps you could offer me vestage of a suggestion.

I am in Dallas, Texas.

Thanks,

Mklton Abramson

Answer
Dear Sir:

It sounds potentially as though you have an allergy. I am not surprised the MRI was non revealing as far as the dizziness goes.  I don't really think your meds are doing it and might suggest the vertigo exercises if you have any spinning sensation (?) .

If you wonat to try them they are described at:
http://ivertigo.net/bdexercsies.html
The are best for positional vertigo but can't hurt.

Best regards,
