Question Doctor a moment to thank you for your help during this difficult time for me, i am going to see my ENT doc i seen 4 years ago could you tell me for vertigo is the chair or the ENG better? and is antivert worth trying, thing is i take xanax now for anxiety and i dont know how the 2 would mix.
Answer Dear Marc:
The ENG and chair are used for different purposes. The ENG is better in telling what ear is involved. The chair is primarily used to tell about overall vestibular responsivity but is not too good at telling which ear is involved.
Neither antivert or xanax is too good for vertigo in my opinion except for the first few days after the initial attack. If you're already on xanax I would NOT take antivert.
