Subject: NVIDIA Quadro FX 3450/4000 Power Cable?
Question I've installed the Quadro FX 3450/4000 into an HP Duo Core 2.2 GHz system running Vista. The Quadro card is asking for auxiliary power to be connected, and in looking at the card it seems to have a 6 port power adapter (3 rows on top, 3 on the bottom). The power cards within the HP are all the 4 port power adapters (4 across).
Is there an adapter to go from 6 to 4? Or am I looking in the wrong place?
Thanks,
Pat
Answer You'll need an adapter which will take two of the molex 4 pins and connect them to the 6 pin PCIe auxliary on your Quadro FX. One thing I'd like to know, which Quadro FX is it? (FX 3450 and 4000 are different models), and how large is your power supply? (It may not like this so much).
