Question i just got a video card for my dad, his motherboard already had an x300 pci-e pre-installed and set in his bios. I just installed this card, i ran the ati catylist setup and after restart i get the "blue screen of death" ....ati2dvag.dll and begins system dump
is this something i can fix by running in safe mode?
i did see something online about going through device manager. But im not sure as of right now??
Answer Most likely a bad install or a bad driver. Go to safe mode and remove any ATI software through uninstall programs. Then go to device manager and right click the display adapter and choose remove uninstall.
Reboot and skip the device install wizard. then go to ATI's website and download the newest drivers for the card and install them. Reboot - all should be OK now.
