Question
When I start up my computer a Dell xps400 with a nvidia 6800 card, The screen goes blank. The computer is on but nothing to the monitor. I can start it in safe mode. But the screen flickers badly even then. My son was playing world of warcraft and running two accounts in windows mode when the screen froze and started flickering. He restarted and started playing again and a half hour later it froze again and started flickering again. Since then I haven't been able to get it working except in safe mode, and even then it isn't running right. I checked the display advanced setttings and it doesn't even list the nvideo card as the adapter. I'm wondering if the video card is fried somehow.

Answer
Go into safe mode
Right click my computer and choose manage, then scroll down to device manager. Expand display adapters. Hopefully your card is listed. Right click and choose uninstall or remove. Go to add/remove programs in control panel and uninstall any ndidia software.
Go to normal windows. You should get in unless the card is fried.
When the device wizard comes up cancel it.
Go to Nvidias website and down load the newest drivers.
Install them and reboot.
If you cant get to windows at all, I suspect the video card or power supply.
