Question
Hey,
Recently I have been having problems regarding my video and monitor.  I will turn on my computer, and after a minute or two, my monitor will black out and flash "No Signal", and the only way to get the picture back is by restarting the computer.  The problem ranges from a couple seconds after startup, to during the middle of doing something relatively important.  I'm surprised that I'm even able to write this question without the monitor blacking out on me. I have tried uninstalling the drivers, and putting the current version on, changing the adapter through which my monitor connects to the computer, and Ive even taken it to the local computer shop who sold me the computer. All have proven unsuccessful, and I'm not sure what else I can do.

My system is relatively current:
Intel Core2Duo Quad-core Q6600 2.4GHz CPU
GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB DDR3 Extreme PCI-Express
3GB DDR2 RAM
MSI Motherboard PCIe & SATA Support
Windows Vista Business 32bit.

Any help would be appreciated, and I'm getting tired of having to restart my computer so many times, until the monitor/video card decide to cooperate for an hour+.

Thanks,
Chris

Answer
purchase some canned air and use it to blow out all the monitor vents really well. unplug the monitor for about 1 day. Plug it back in and use the buttons on the front to reset or factory defaults.
Check function.
If the problem persists, try replacing the monitor cable - you should be able to pick this up for pretty cheap - or check newegg.com for one.
