Question Hi, I do second life gaming and there is a slot on my compaq desktop for a graphics card (currently graphics is integrated and it's crap). The pc case is slimline pentium 4 serial number 6X29-KN9X-G3JX / I tried to purchase an agp video card and it is too tall for my computer. The man at the store said I'd have to buy one direct from compaq because I wouldn't be able to find anything at a store that would do second life gaming. I'm very angry. I called compaq and they were very rude telling me that if I wanted to do gaming I'd have to buy a new computer and that they didn't sell video cards - even though there's a space for one on the mother board. I cannot believe there is no video card I can buy. I told them it should be very simple to install a card. He laughed at me and said most people buy a new computer. Can you please please please help me? What kind of video card can I buy for my computer that will fit. Thanks for your help.
Answer Both the guy at the store and compaq are steering you wrong. All you need to do is find a Lowprofile video card. Now keep in mind there is not much selection for them. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Description=low...
just make sure they actually say lowprofile is the discription. Newegg has the best prices and a good selection. You should find what you need there.
