Subject: video card problem

Question
I installed a used ati radeon x700pro PCI-E card in my vista desktop pc. and it would load up... and all i can see its LINES.... CHECKERS...and ODD shapes.... doesnt even look like vista. I can not make anyting out. It restartes over and over. What could be the prob. i disable the onboard vid to. Im Stuck big time.

Answer
First I would enter safe mode and uninstall any driver for this and the onboard video. Then uninstall and ati software.
Reboot.
Download the newest drivers from aTI's website.
If you still have problem and can't get the drivers just download them on another PC and install in safe mode.
If you have an nvidia chipset make sure you disable the onboard video in the bios and uninstall any nvidia video software in control panel.

If still problems if may just be a bad card.
