Question Hi Chris: I bought a 22" Westinghouse Monitor LCM-22w3 about one year ago. It works fine for day to day stuff, but when I want to play a DVD--it just won't work. The screen flashes black and then back to the Windows Media Player/Real Player. I was able to set it to the proper resolution when I got it so I thought the video card was fine. Today I tried again and got a message that it might be the video card needs updating. I can't find any info on this problem. Any ideas? Like I said it works fine all other times, even to watch streaming video online.
Answer Easy enough.
You'll need to find what type of video card you have.
Right click my computer and choose manage. Scroll down to device manager. Expand display adapters. Write down the make and model.
If the card is Nvidia or ATI, get the driver from their website (free download).
If the video card is anything else, go to the computer manufacturer's website, support page, put in the model and/or serial and download the newest video driver. They may list several, thats why we wrote down the make and model.
