Question Hello sir,
black lines appeared from left to right on my crt monitor. Is this a graphic card problem or low/high voltage affecting the monitor.I have updated my graphic card drivers.I have checked the earthing in my house its fine.Pls help.
Answer Purchase some canned air from an office supply store. Unplug the monitor and computer.Use the canned air to blow out all the vent holes of the monitor. Leave the monitor unplugged for about 1 day. Then use the buttons on the front to enter the menu and select reset.
Open the computer case. use canned air to blow out the whole computer. Pay specail attention to the fans and power supply.
Remove the video card from the computer (this is only if you have an add on video card). Replace the card back into it's slot.
Close case and boot up.
If problem persists:
Try the monitor on another computer.
If still problems, replace the video card (check newegg.com for best prices)
