Subject: using dvi port

Question
QUESTION: I've a Nvidia 8600 gt card, and have been using the DVI to vga adapter just fine. But when adding DVI cord to other port at the same time the video  and TV inside vista mce now has the look of viewing thru a red filter whether in window mood or full screen. Otherwise when using the computer for all else look normal. DVI connected device is sharp xr-30x thanks

ANSWER: Do you have another DVI cable to test with? Are you sure the cable is connected 100% firmly?

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: I will try another cord but why would this also effect the LCD monitor plugged into the VGA adapter?

Answer
You're saying it works alright with DVI to VGA adapter, so I'm venturing that the cord or connector is damaged, since the display apparently works fine, and it apparently works correctly with the DVI to VGA adapter in place, the only other source of failure would be connection.
