Question Hello,
I have an HIS ATI HD 2400 Pro video card. I am getting confused as to whether it is a 256 MB or 512 MB video card.
Sources like DirectX diagnostics, ATI Catalyst Control Center and System Requirements Lab say that it is 512 MB while ATITools 0.27 beta 4 and some websites indicate that it was 256 MB but which is true? And does the 1 GB hyper-memory mean that it just steals from the RAM?
Thanks in advance.
Answer yes hyper memory mean that the memory is partially on the card, the rest it steal from system memory.
According to ATI's website. The card only carries 256 dedicated (on board) memory, and up to 1 gig hyper memory (depending on model).
So it looks as if you have 256 on the card and the other 256 is taken from your system memory when the card needs it. My nvidia 8400 gt is the same way.
