Video Card Problems/connecting a vcr to a windows media center pc

Question
Hi and thanks for reading my question, I hope you can help me.

I'm trying to connect a video casset recorder to a windows media center pc. (in my case it's a Sony Vaio) I'm not really sure of the version of media center I have, the machine is about a year old though.

I chose to connect the vcr to the computer using the three RCA type outputs on the vcr, and inputs on the back of the pc.

I rebooted the PC and restarted media center, but I don't know how to get the signel to play on the computer. Can you help me configure media center to accept vcr input
or If I can't view the tape in media center, do you know another way to view tapes on my pc?

Thankyou
Glen

Answer
I'm guessing you have a knowledge of how to work the TV Tuner portion of your media center PC, which is what is likely also providing the RCA inputs. I would try cycling input channels on that, with something playing on the VCR, it should work. If your video input is provided by a video card with VIVO (less likely) you'd need to read the documentation that came with the system to see which software will show the input view.
