QUESTION: When I unplug the arcade or if power goes out it takes 2-3 weeks for my screen to go back on. What do you think I need to replace?

ANSWER: It takes 2-3 weeks to come back on? I'd suggest finding a hobby to do while the screen comes on!

Seriously though, it sounds like the tube is failing. At this point, you could try to find a TV repairman that has a tube rejuvenator, or contact an arcade supplier and purchase a new monitor. There is very little that you can do yourself.

Now, if you mean that the game won't come back on, then there can be other issues. Can you hear the game in the background, you just can't see it?

QUESTION: Correct I can here the game just not see it.

Then your monitor is dying. The tube is weak, which is normal for these games given the beating the cabinets usually took in bar environments.

Your best bet will be to replace it- but you can also replace it with an LCD monitor if you wish. There are resources for this on the web (search "golden tee monitor replacement")

Hope this helps,

I can answer questions regarding coin-operated arcade game questions down to the logic board. Error codes, erratic operation, dead boards, I can help with them all. I can help with video monitors on a very limited and basic level only.

I have spent nearly 20 years as an avid arcade collector, and spent nearly 10 of those years as the lead tech for a large arcade operator, doing work for manufacturers and other coin-operated amusement companies around the globe. I maintain a good sized collection of arcade games, as well as a large inventory of spare parts for a wide range of arcade machines.
